The annual AIA Grand Rapids Honor Awards Celebration is our opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work and extraordinary efforts of our member architects. It is the goal of AIAGR to broaden the reach and awareness of the amazing spaces and places that our members are instrumental in bringing to fruition. This event also serves as an opportunity for each of us to step back and reconnect with friends and colleagues. The AIAGR Board is seeking interested people to participate in the planning of this great event as well as creative people with fresh ideas who would like to continue to see the event improve. The committee can also serve as a great opportunity to meet and work with other AIA members in the community while increasing the exposure of our professionals and their architecture to the public. The following is a description of the committee leading up to our Awards Celebration in the Fall:
- Meet regularly (about once a month) to plan and coordinate the event
- Plan the event experience, including venue, refreshments, etc.
- Solicit sponsorship opportunities to support the event
- Report back to the board on progress and items requiring a vote
Your AIAGR Board asks that you seriously consider joining this important committee and its efforts. The committee’s first initial planning kick-off meeting will take place on Monday, February 4, 2019. We will be meeting at 3:30 PM at Progressive AE located at 1811 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
